How does a combi boiler works?

The principle behind the working of a combi boiler is quite simple and understandable. A combi boiler is a small unit which is usually installed in the kitchen cupboard of a kitchen and it can be controlled through a thermostat. A combi boiler consists of a heat exchanger which comprise of two pipes, one pipe is from another unit known as a boiler and the other pipe is from the mains. So basically when cold water comes from the mains into the mains pipe the boiler unit which is a source of boiling water pumps hot water through its pipe and finally in the exchanger unit the two pipes are intermingled so exchange of heat takes place from the hot pipe to the cold pipe and since the pipes are conducting in nature the pipe from the mains gets heated up and the water in the mains pipe gets heated up. The water in the boiler pipe gets cooled down as heat travels from a higher concentration to a lower concentration, so the cooled water is again pumped to the boiler and finally, through heat exchange the water gets heated up in the mains pipe. That can be used for domestic purposes.
